Tower Loading Arm

Railcar Loading Arm (Normal)

Tower loading arm is a type of loading arm that is used to transport liquid from the refinery factory to the railway station.

 

Structure

It mainly consists of hydraulic loading arm system, drawing system and central control system. The hydraulic loading arm system is one of the key systems, and it composes of elevating device, stretching device, hydraulic station and a movable car. The elevating device helps to push the elevating pipe close to the bottom of the railcar, and it is operated hydraulically. The drawing device is made up of transmission device, a little movable car, chain transmission device, tension device and an idler roller. The drawing device helps guide the railcar moving forward and backward in order to roughly fit the opening of the oil tank to the loading arm.

Working process:

Open Valve 3 before loading, and draw the railcar to the right position. Then adjust the loading arm to fit the opening of the oil tank. When the filling tube falls to the lowest position, the opening of the oil tank will be sealed by the seal cap. Open Valve 2 now, then it will load at a low flow rate. The oil flows through the current limiting tube, the telescopic tube and the filling tube. Wait until the filling tube submerges into the oil surface, and then open Valve1. It can be loaded at high flow rate, when the oil flows through both the main stream tube and the current limiting tube, telescopic tube to the filling tube. When the mass flow meter roughly reaches the originally set figure, cut off the main stream tube, and load the vehicle back to the low flow rate. When the flow meter reaches the exact set figure, the current limiting tube will be cut off as well. The mass flow meter will exactly show how much oil has been loaded.
